Tourism hiking trails

The Azores boast an attractive network of hiking trails spread across all nine islands. The trails are signposted, consistently marked, and divided into three different difficulty categories. There are linear hikes (PR) and circular hikes (PRCThe average hiking time is approximately 2,5 hours.

Many hiking trails follow old, classic routes. Some are centuries old. A large number of them are still in use today.

These connecting routes were built on behalf of the Regional Government of the Azores together with the TourThe archipelago's infrastructure has been restored. The enchanting and, in many places, untouched landscape can therefore be experienced along the hiking trails.
