This Tour leads through the northeast of Pico and connects Terra Alta with Calhau.
The route begins near the main road (ER 1) on a dirt track, the Caminho da Atalhada, where you can see the Relheiras (old markings of the oxcarts) on the ground.
From here, the path descends between Pittosporum undulatum, Morella faya, Laurus azorica, and Ilex azorica, crossing the road and continuing to the paved road. Here, a detour to the left leads to the Alto dos Cedros viewpoint with views of... São Jorge.
We return to the main road, pass a fountain, and turn left, passing the Rocha Alta area. Reaching the road again, we cross Ribeirinha and at the end of the village, turn left towards the port of Baixa, where we can rest, swim in the sea, and visit the typical wine cellars and vineyards, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Continue walking close to the coast and follow the markings that will lead you through the Azores heath (Erica azorica) back to the main road. Leave the main road and turn left towards Ponta das Trombetas and Calhau, where the path ends near the fishing port. From here, there are connections to other parts of the island via... PR 03 PIC Ponta da Ilha.
