This circular hike begins and ends in the Relvão Park of Angra do Heroísmo.
At the entrance, walk up the paved road towards the Fortaleza de São João Batista fortress. Near the watchtower, turn left and walk approximately 250 meters to a fork in the road, where you again bear left to reach the Chapel of Santo António.
From here, continue to the left on a dirt road and after 350 m turn right onto a path that leads to the Monte Brasil picnic area.
Behind the picnic area, turn left onto a dirt track which leads to the highest point of the route, the Pico do Facho (205 m), leads.
The trail then descends along a dirt track in numerous switchbacks until the turnoff to Forte da Quebrada. From there, a shady path leads through undulatum (Pittosporum undulatum) to another junction, which leads to a whale watching point.
Next comes the Caldeira viewpoint. Walk uphill for 200 meters on the paved road and turn left onto a small path leading to the viewpoint. Pico that leads Cruzinhas.
Keep to the right here and walk downhill towards the picnic area. Once there, turn left and follow a small path downhill towards the paved road.
Finally, keep to the right and after 700 m you will reach the starting point of the hike again.
